The New Jerusalem Place of Safety Home:
The New Jerusalem Place of Safety Home is a legally incorporated entity which addresses the needs of children who are abused, HIV infected and abandoned and teenage-pregnant mothers. To date this Home is housing 27 children, ranging between the ages of 2 months and 14 years.
It is run by Anna Mojapelo, a qualified Attorney and her sister, Phina Mojapelo, a social worker by profession. The organization depends on fund raising and charitable donations, and does not have any main sponsor. Both sisters usually go for long periods of time without salaries as they have to pay their staff, made up of ten child minders. Some of the children pass-on as a result of HIV/AIDS and other incurable diseases.
It is professionally run and prides itself in having the capacity and expertise to deal with children with special needs.
The Home is a refuge to children in the Randburg and Midrand area. The Home services the following squatter settlements: Diepsloot, Rabie Ridge, Ivory Park, Mayibuye, Olifansfontein, Phomolong, Kanana, Winnie Mandela, Ebony Park, Kaalfontein, Tembisa and Alexandra
The Home’s Mission Statement:
- To provide quality care to orphans, abandoned, abused and retro positive children
- To address the physical, emotional, social and educational needs of children
- To promote the development and protect the interests, safety and well being of children within the context of the family
- To train and counsel the youth on AIDS and life skills

We are hoping to attract 500 guests to this event. Our confirmed guest speaker is Mr. Bulelani Ngcuka, the Director of the National Prosecuting Authority.
The theme of his talk will be “Threat to democracy caused by white collar crime, for instance, shareholder manipulation. How can Corporate Business assist the National Prosecuting Authority in curbing this problem?”
Our request to your company is a table sponsorship of R 5 000.00.
In return, your organisation can invite ten guests to be part of this dinner
For your kind contribution, we are looking at a quid pro quo arrangement as follows:
- Your company will be formally thanked on the day at the function.
- Formal acknowledgement on the programme
- Networking opportunity with other guests
- Over and above that, your organisation’s support will be mentioned in the next issue of the ERC quarterly newsletter.
We hope it will be possible for you to participate in this worthy course.
CONCLUSION
In order to build a nation that has true values and purpose in life, we have to take care of our communities. The underprivileged child is very easy to please because he/she want simple things in life. The ERC is hoping that your company will see it fit to assist in this noble effort.
The success of this endeavour will bring a lot of relief to the children, some of who have very little time to enjoy the things that we take for granted, i.e., good health, being able to sit without being aided, a meal per day, etc.
